Story
This page is to raise money in memory of Christine Boyd, she was an amazing person loved by everyone and her smile lit up a room, a strong, inspirational and brave woman who never gave up! After overcoming breast cancer in 2009 she went on to raise over £20000 for cancer charities and so in true Chris Boyd style we wanted raise more in her name.
Mum passed away on the 25 August 2017 the cause of her death was Mesothelioma, she was diagnosed in March 2017.
Mesothelioma is an extremely aggressive form of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos dust, in Mum it affected the plural of her lungs. Currently there is no cure for Mesothelioma and the area is extremely underfunded, Mum and us as a family recognise the importance of research, treatment, support and legal advice for victims and want to support the cause. The charity we have chosen really did support and help her and is close to all our hearts.
Mesothelioma UK is a national specialist resource centre, specifically for asbestos-related cancer, mesothelioma. The charity is dedicated to providing specialist mesothelioma information, support and education, and to improving care and treatmentfor all UK mesothelioma patients and their carers.
The charity integrates into NHS front line services to ensure specialist mesothelioma nursing is available at the point of need.
The charity relies entirely on donations, legacies, fundraising and sponsorship to ensure all services provided free of charge across the UK.
Thank you so much for reading every donation really will make a difference to this wonderful charity.
