Firstly thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Until about 9 months ago Maggies was not a charity I was aware. Through circumstances I wish hadn't ever happened, I am now aware of Maggies and more importantly what they do.

My sister's boyfriend Piers Moth was last year diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour, for which he is currently undergoing treatment. During this time I have become aware of the fantastic care and support that Maggies has been able to provide to not only Piers but also those closest to him. I have learnt that Maggies centres always have the time to offer people support and advice whatever their circumstance, but perhaps they don't receive the same recognition or support as some of the larger charities.

In raising money through the cycle ride from Lands End to John O'Groats I hope to be able to provide fundraising to help and further, even if only in a small way, the fantastic service that Maggies provides. We will be taking on this challenge and cycling from 30th June 2012 and hope to complete the 860 odd miles in 12 days. This will be a big ask and something neither Mike or I have attempted before.

Please, please help me in supporting this amazing charity. Cancer is something we may all have to face one day and I know I would want Maggies there for support.
