My name is Chrissy and I am 12 years old. I live with my mom, Abby my dad, Stew and my older brothers Will and Luke. I am a kind and caring boy and my family love me very much but I have a diagnosis of Autism and more recently ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) and these conditions mean I find it very difficult to regulate my emotions and this can cause me to have 'explosive meltdowns, that are upsetting and stressful for myself and my family. My mom was desperate to find a way to help me and she came across Supporting Paws. They train dogs to help calm children like me and allow us to enjoy everyday things like going to the supermarket or to the park or out for tea. All the things I want to be able to do without the fear of my anxiety taking over.

I have been really lucky to get accepted on to the waiting list for a dog of my own and I would be so grateful if you could help me on my fundraising journey. I am very excited to soon be meeting one of the Supporting Paws dogs in training, Jasper. I have two guineapigs called Coco and Cinnamon who I love very much but they get scared when I scream and throw things. I don't want this to happen to me and I get very distressed when I am struggling to regulate myself. I really think a dog will help me stay calm as I really love animals. 

My Autism means I find it difficult to make close friendships so to have a dog I can feel close to and call my best friend would be truly amazing! Me and my family are hoping to come up with some crazy ideas about how we can raise the money we need and I have the most wonderfully supportive teachers at my school that want to help me too so please watch this space!
