We fund brilliant minds and bright ideas to save sight and change lives.

Story

I am participating in the Fight for Sight Carrots Night Walk to raise funds for Birdshot research and the Birdshot Biobank project.

Birdshot is a potentially blinding form of posterior uveitis.  There is currently no known cure and it is treated with toxic medication that adversely affect quality of life.

The Birdshot Biobank will store samples from people with Birdshot so that research can be undertaken to try and find the cause of Birdshot uveitis and  prevent it for future generations. We are also hoping to find better treatments for this chronic, auto-immune, sight threatening disease.

The Carrots Night Walk is taking place on September 21st, 2012 and I’m going to walk 15 miles through London by night.
