Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Hi All,

I will be attempting a Golfathon on the 8th July at my home course Painswick Golf Club, Painswick golf course is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and takes full advantage of the undulating landscape. At 5,000 yards with a par of 67, the golf course sits atop the Cotswolds escarpment which offers spectacular views of Gloucestershire and the Welsh Mountains.

The golf course is built on the remnants of an Iron Age fort which is over 3,000 years old. As a result, players will discover several blind spots and great ramparts of earth and stone which enclose all or part of the 5th, 6th, 7th, 10th and 11th holes, adding to the overall character.

The walking distance is approx. 5.8miles and has an elevation gain of 110m, I will be walking the course and aim to complete a min of 5 rounds (90 holes) starting at 6.00am so it will be around 30 miles and 550m of hills! Walking up the first hole on the first round is bad enough and I am not looking forward to the doing it at least 5 times in one day!

Spirax Sarco’s Steam Business Development Division have been supporting Gloucestershire Young Carers for several years and I will be donating all funds raised to this chosen Charity.

I would be very grateful if you could sponsor me, no donation is too small. To make a bit of a competition those that do sponsor me are invited to predict what overall gross score I will shoot (taking my best score per hole on all rounds onto one overall card) The person that predicts the correct score will win a round of golf for 4 people at Painswick. (Please include your prediction in your comments when you make a donation)

Anyone that also wishes to pledge a bonus donation for the following would be gratefully received. (If you do wish to pledge yes include this in your comments when you make a donation)

£1 for a Birdie

£5 for an Eagle

£10 for a hole in one! (It would be my first one ever)

Thank you very much in advance.

Chris
