The Cobras.  The Cobras are a registered charity and need donations to keep doing the amazing work they do.  The Howes Percival Team is hoping to: (i) raise awareness of the amazing work the Cobras do within the community, (ii) raise awareness of the Cobras in the Leicester business community, (iii) raise awareness of the fantastic facility that is the Leicester Arena (home to the Leicester Riders and the Cobras), and (iv) raise as much money as we can for the Cobras.  Ideally (with your help) we want to be able to fund or part fund a new basketball sports wheelchair for the Club/ one of the Cobras' players.

The Event.  On Thursday 26 January 2017 a team of lawyers from Howes Percival will take on the mighty Leicester Cobras Wheelchair Basketball First Team in their own back yard at the Leicester Arena!

The Howes Percival Team.  This comprises:

Help from the Leicester Riders - The Howes Percival Team will be managed on the night by Tyler Bernardini the captain of the Leicester Riders and HP will be practising with the Riders before the event.  A massive thanks to Russell Levenston, MD of the Riders for agreeing to support our cause in this manner and of course to Tyler and the Riders for their time.

Grudge Match! - The game is also a GRUDGE MATCH.  In 2015 some of the Cobras First Team took on a team from Howes Percival at netball as a warm up event for the Gauntlet (a huge fundraising day where 10 local charities including the Cobras benefited from monies raised by the Leicester business community).  Howes Percival won that game (OK we were not in chairs at that time) and now the Cobras have challenged us to this rematch at their game in their backyard with us in chairs too!

This Fundraising - Our fundraising will comprise this page, donations on the night of the event as a raffle on the night too.  Raffle prizes will include a signed Leicester Riders shirt or ball and a signed Cobras ball and a number of other prizes. Happy to include a Howes Percival shirt signed by the HP team (but that is probably less appealing.......).  All monies raised will go to the Cobras.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

IMPORTANT - Gift Aid.  The Cobras are currently in the process of registering for Gift Aid with HMRC.  This process is likely to be finalised after the event itself.  This means that you will be unable to automatically Gift Aid your donation.  If you do want to Gift Aid your donation please send a quick email to:

and ask for a Gift Aid form for this event.  Angela will then email the Gift Aid form to you to complete and return to us.  We realise this seems like a pain for which we and the Cobras can only apologise, but it is worth 25p in every £1 to the Cobras and EVERY PENNY COUNTS so please do go through such process if you do want to Gift Aid your donation.

Come and watch on the night - we expect to have circa 90 to 100 seats on the night and some standing room.  If you want to come and watch the event please send an email to:

We are not charging for tickets and places need reserving as they will be on a first come first serve basis.  If you do come you will need to bring a few notes to help fill the donation buckets and if you want to buy some raffle tickets on the night!

This is a great opportunity to raise money for the Cobras and will be a great event.
