Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
I'm now officially entered into the 2010 Brighton Marathon, which takes place a week before the London Marathon on the same month.
Sadly one of my sponsors on this page has already succumbed to the disease I am running to try and defeat. And I went all the way to America to attend a celebration of someone's life who also recently lost his fight. So this is a cause worth supporting, in any way you can.
It will be my first marathon and I'm assured the statistics indicate I have a better than average chance of surviving, so that's something. On a serious note I am trying to raise funds so that those facing a real survival challenge have as best a chance as possible of surviving too. So that's my hard-sell to you: I'm already in training and after having not trained for a couple of weeks because of being on the road in the UK and US I made hard work of 26K this week. Next weekend my target is 28K, and so on. A marathon is 42K!
Its a small challenge compared to someone with cancer, and any small donation you feel able to offer will go a long way both to motivating me but also to contributing to their struggle. So on my behalf and theirs: thank-you.
For those without anything better to do I shall start a blog about this nearer the time! Watch this space...
