Story

Dear Donors

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. You're probably familiar with the process, but in case not:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I will be walking 20 miles a day for 4 days through different parts of Sri Lanka from the 5th to the 8th November as a participant in "Beefy's Big Walk" - a fund raising event to help bring sport and education to under privileged children in Sri Lanka as it recovers from the recently ended civil war there.

Although walking is a favourite activity of mine (except in cricket, obviously) the climatic conditions in Sri Lanka will be exceptionally challenging, in addition to which Ian Botham sets a ferocious pace (4 miles an hour) irrespective of the conditions - so this is going to be a decent test, not a light stroll!

I'm confident of completing the walks, though in what final shape I cannot predict, other than which I expect no one will fancy a donation of my tee shirts, socks or other clothing souvenirs from the expedition!

Thanks for reading this - I hope you can make a generous donation

Chris
