Lymphoma Action is the UK’s only charity dedicated to lymphoma, the fifth most common cancer. We’ve been providing in-depth, expert information and wide-ranging support for over 30 years, helping thousands of people affected by lymphoma. Our work drives improvements in the diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare of lymphoma.

In January 2007 I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma,
cancer of the Lymphatic system which is part of your immune system.

A great shock as previously I had been a fit 30 odd year old
married father of three who played rugby and golf and generally enjoyed life.

I undertook three months of ABVD chemotherapy followed by 30
days of Radiation treatment at the fantastic Christies Hospital in Manchester under
the care of Professor Radford, the staff were every bit supportive as you could
imagine, and the care received made the journey easier for myself and those
effected by my illness, particularly my wife Vicky who looked after me at home
even though this was very tough on her and our young children.

Lymphoma Action worked with the hospital and were always
there when we needed them, at the hospital or from home to answer and give
advice to hundreds of questions.  You can’t
imagine how vital this is until you need it.

It is for this reason that I have chosen them to run the
London Marathon for, we owe them a debt of gratitude for what they did and what
they continue to do with support and research for those effected, not only the
patients but their family and friends.

My training has started, I will be running over 25 miles a
week between 1^st January and the Marathon date and would really
appreciate your support for this great cause. 
The work they do is so important and available when you need it most.
