Story
*I have run the 10k race in Fire Kit, and it was probably one of the hardest things I have ever done. Never. Ever. AGAIN! But thank you to everyone who donated, I wouldn't have made it otherwise*
Back in March I ran the Stafford Half Marathon in aid of the Fire Fighters Charity. I ended up being completely done over by the run and unable to properly walk afterwards for a good couple of weeks (damn runners knee). But I managed to raise over £100 for the charity, and now, I intend to raise more.
In September is the Lichfield 10k. I know it is half the distance of the half marathon, so I intend to make it twice as hard. I'll be running the distance in full Fire Fighter PPE. That's boots, trousers, tunic, helmet, gloves and woollen socks. (picture soon)This time though, I won't be running just for the Fire Fighters Charity. I'm also running to support a friend, for whom this will be his first running event. He'll be running in aid of PAPYRUS UK, a charity for the Prevention of Young Suicide.Instead of just giving him a standard donation, I'll be donating my body by running this event and giving half of the raised funds to his charity. So if you would like to sponsor me, I know it seems like a bit of a mither, if you could donate half to here and half to www.justgiving.com/Chris-Paines1 that would be grand. Thank you so much in advance. Everything raised got me through the pain last time, and I'm sure I'll definitely need the encouragement this time.
