Story
Hello!
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and helping me raise funds for the RSPCA Manchester and Salford Branch.
Where do I begin? I have been involved with the branch since 2011 when Emma and I adopted our first two kittens from them. Fast-forward three and a bit years and we now have five cats from the branch and between us there aren’t too many volunteering roles we don’t do! Cat cuddling, dog walking, home visiting, cat and kitten fostering and for the last 18 months I have been a trustee for the branch too.
One of the few things I haven’t done though, is an activity to raise much-needed funds for the branch. After talking to my gym they have very kindly allowed me to perform my Swimathon in their pool on Monday 16th June from 12pm. I chose my target based on it being about SIX times longer than I have swum at any point in the past few years. This is not going to be a walk in the park or a splash in the hot tub for me!
Why RSPCA M&S?
As a foster daddy to over 100 cats and kittens over the last 2 years I have been truly blessed seeing so many kittens growing up from helpless furballs to cheeky rascals. Sadly due to the over population of cats (due to lack of neutering/spaying) there is always another Queen (mum cat) and kittens waiting to come into the branches care. The branch also take in cats who have been subjected to abuse and none more special than Seren who was found with a cable tie around her neck, it was so tight it had to be surgically removed. Seren made a full recovery and went to wonderful forever home but she wouldn’t have been able to do this without the care and attention giving from the RSPCA M&S branch. I could go on forever about each individual cat I have fostered, but all you need to know is the branch need your help. Every £1 donated will help the branch from feeding the animals to paying for vets bills.
