Story
I'm hoping to raise £500 for the charity Sarcoma UK in memory of my brother Dave Marsden who sadly passed away 18th March 2013.
Sarcoma are rare cancers that develop in the supporting or connective tissues of the body such as muscle, bone, nerves, cartilage, blood vessels and fat. In the UK there are around 3800 new cases diagnosed each year with around 1200 people living with and battling the disease.
I'm going to walk the three peaks challenge that involves climbing the highest peaks in Yorkshire. The total distance walked is 24 miles with the aim of completing it in less than 12 hours.
Sarcoma UK is the main charity dealing with all types of sarcoma and rely solely on voluntary donations. All donations are greatly appreciated.
So...here's the plan.......
On Saturday september 7th (date changed due to injury to a fellow walker)wake up at 3.30am, drive 2 1/2 hours to the Yorkshire Dales, walk 24 miles over a variety of rugged terrains, three big climbs totalling 5202 feet, drive home then go to sleep! What could possibly go wrong????
