Story

Hi All,

Thank You for taking time out of your day to read this.

At the beggining of this Year My Girlfriend lost her mother to an Illness called Myeloma.

Just over two years ago the lady in the photo went into hospital with Her Arm broken in three places.

Prior to this Jan had been diagnosed with osteoporosis.

After spending three weeks in hospital Jan was discharged, but having received the news that she had Myeloma.

Myeloma is a cancer of the plasma cells, which are found in bone marrow, they are responsible for protecting the body against infection. Complications include severe bone pain, bone fractures, infections, kidney failure and fatigue.

Every year there are nearly 4,000 people diagnosed. While approximately 80% of patients are over 65, it appears to be on the increase in people in their 50's and even younger

I only had a short while in sharing some good times and laughter with jan,i never to this day will understand the bravery in this women ,i used to drive her to the occasional hospital appointment and she would turn around to me and say at least all this different treatments the doctors try on me will help someone else in the long run

But thats how I saw jans view of life always looking out for everyone and not worrying about herself

she was a remarkable women and Brave isnt a big enough word for her in my eyes

She has seen her family grow up with her eldiest boy getting married her 2 younger boys having babies and her Daughther growing up into a lady that has followed her dreams of traverling and has a great career and family ahead of her and me lol

Jan would be very proud of her husband Paul who is carrying on looking after his family through think and thin but with jan always there looking over his shoulder

So people you can see why i am trying to make a difference to someones life every little helps and if this means me Running Marathons putting on a Fund Raising Evening to raise monies to make someone smile that little bit longer  in life then i have done my little bit to help Just like Jan has done for other People she will never meet but might have helped them for a bit longer in there life by working with the doctors and there medacations
