Indiana Jones and the Journey to become a Diabetic Alert Dog · 29 October 2019

Hypo Hounds is a registered Assistance Dog Charity training Diabetic Alert Assistance dogs to sniff out the changes of their Type 1 Diabetic partners blood sugar levels. Through early intervention we are preventing hospital admissions, preventing children collapsing, and improving their lives.

Story

We live in Kingswood and our son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes earlier this year. To help us with his condition we are raising money for a charity called ‘Hypo Hounds’ to train our new puppy ‘Indiana ‘Indie’ Jones’ to become a diabetic alert dog. Once fully trained, Indie will be able to alert us to any dangerous changes of blood sugar levels before they even happen. This will stop our son falling into a coma or having dangerously high sugar levels which can affect nerves, kidneys, eyesight and more.
It costs £25,000 to train each dog- we don’t have to raise this much but we need to keep fundraising so they can keep training!
The Hypo Hounds trainers are incredible with the work they do.
Please donate, every little helps!
Thank-you 💙
