We supplement NHS funding at St George's to enhance the Hospital's services

Story

We are cycling to support my son's Fiancé Emma and all the Staff working on PICU at St George’s. They are all amazing and deserve the facilities to support their work.

St George’s is home to one of the largest children’s hospitals in the country, with paediatric services rated outstanding by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). We are the people that parents rely on when the worst happens to their children. Our outstanding care is world renowned.

But our facilities are not.

Built in the 70s, our wards are tired, cramped and uninviting. Lacking space, our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit is unable to treat the number of children who need its world-class care.

We’re proud to have staff that are some of the most talented and dedicated in the country. However, in desperate need of space, our staff have given up their changing facilities and staff rooms to make way for more beds.

This is not sustainable. Help us to raise £5m by 2024 to transform children’s services at St George’s. Together we could:

  • Increase our PICU by a third
  • Transform the wards into bright and welcoming spaces, a home away from home for our children and their families
  • Create better facilities for our staff who work so tirelessly to provide our outstanding care. It’s time for a change.
