Story
Hi everyone.
My nephew, Joseph, is nearly 12 years old. He is autistic and was recently diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Joseph is non-verbal, rarely sleeps and is an absolutely boundless dynamo of energy! How my twin-sister, Sue, and her husband, Dan, balance the 24/7 care he needs with running their family and living their lives to the full every day consistently boggles my mind.
Ambitious about Autism is the national charity for autistic children and young people. They stand with them and their families through the journey from diagnosis to adulthood, providing support services, raising awareness and understanding, and campaigning for change.
I’m running the 2023 London Marathon to offer my support for Ambitious about Autism in their attempts to help people such as Joseph, Sue & Dan be themselves and realise their ambitions. I know that these are challenging times for everyone, but if you would like to make a donation to Ambitious about Autism, by sponsoring me and my run at the marathon this weekend, then I’d be very, very grateful.
