This July I will be taking part in the Trois Etapes - the ultimate competitive pro-am cycling experience. 

It raises 1million pounds for a host of charities taking part.

The event is televised on Channel 4 and Eurosport.

14 teams compete during four days (26-29 July) over a flat Prologue and three mountain stages within the French Alps:

• Prologue: Maurienne Valley
• Etape 1: Orelle - Col du Glandon - Orelle
• Etape 2: Orelle - Aussois - Col de l'Iseran - Orelle
• Etape 3: Orelle - Col du Chaussy - Col de la Madeleine

I would like to take this opportunity to use my hobby of cycling to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.  

Prostate cancer is a killer almost the size of breast cancer, yet it hardly registers on society's radar.

Here are some more facts about the disease:

• Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men.
• Every hour one man dies from prostate cancer - that's more than 10,000 every year.
• It's estimated that by 2030, prostate cancer will be the most common cancer.
• One in eight men will get prostate cancer.

The charity are in desperate need of money to help their teams of researchers to crack the disease.  As well as fund the care of 40,000 new sufferers who are identified every year.
