Cycle London -> Paris July 20th to 23rd 2022

GOSH London to Paris with Discover Adventure 2022 · 20 July 2022 ·
Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Every day, over 600 children and young people from across the UK arrive for life-changing treatments.
I'm so proud to have completed my ride for GOSH's 2022 London to Paris Charity Cycle ride as part of the team called "Are We There Yet?". Over 4 days from July 20th , we cycled over 300 miles / 482 Km. It was a lot of work facing some new challenges that I had never done before. I am not an experienced cyclist or at least not yet... The Covid Pandemic postponed the original ride by 12 months, but we completed it in July 22.
I wanted to take on something new and positive and to give something back to our Health Services. Especially given the difficult times created by Covid and the extra pressure it puts on our Health Services and the patients they support.
Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) provide wonderful brilliant support to Children when they most need care, expertise and love.
Everyday they perform miracles. The Children they care for are so positive and full of courage even when they often face the biggest challenges in their lives. It puts things very much in perspective when you think about it.
This extract from the GOSH website I think says it all very well.
"Every day, young lives hang in the balance as patients, families and staff battle the most complex illnesses. Every day, the brightest minds come together to achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs that change the lives of thousands of children – and change the world.
Despite the greatest challenges a child can face, the hospital is a place where being sick does not always mean being sad. And it’s a place where you’ll find – today and every day – some of the bravest people you could ever meet." Read more at https://www.gosh.org/what-we-do.
This extraordinary hospital has always depended on charitable support. Please help me to support GOSH and the Children they care for now and for the future.
Thank you.
Chris.
