We believe research is vital in order to understand MS and its impact on lives

Story

Let me start by thanking you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My good (some might say crazy) deed for 2010 is to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in , .  As someone who is not a big fan of exercise this is a massive physical challenge as believe me it requires a lot of training!  I am dedicating a great deal of time to train for this event.  I have joined 3 hill walking clubs and pretty much every weekend of 2010 is being spent struggling up as many Corbetts and Munros as possible.  Believe me as a girl who would much prefer to spend her Saturdays either shopping or in the pub, this is a great sacrifice on my behalf!  I am pretty sure the hard work will be worth it and I am hoping my legs will begin to feel like they belong to my body again soon!

Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in and the tallest freestanding mountain on Earth.  It stands at an impressive 19,341 feet.  With any mountain of this height there is the risk of altitude sickness which if left untreated can prove to be fatal.

The charity I am raising money for is Multiple Sclerosis Research Training and Education (MS Research).  It is a dedicated MS charity committed to raising funds for research that will make a real difference for those who have MS and those who share their lives.  The primary aims of the charity are to restore to people with MS functions and capabilities lost because of their illness by whatever means possible and to contribute to its eventual cure.  I have chosen to support this charity as there are a few people in my life who I care for a lot who are sufferers of this illness.  Having witnessed first hand the difficulties people with MS face on a daily basis, I am determined to do everything I can to help.

So all I have left to say is please help me to complete this challenge of a lifetime by digging deep into your pockets and help me to raise as much money as possible for a wonderful charity.

Ps. My brave father removed his hair and beard to help me raise money so for anyone who hasn't seen the pictures yet please take a browse in my photos.  Hope you recognise him!  Cheers old man, I think it suits you!!!! xx
