Story
A group of friends and myself are taking on the notorious Tough Mudder on May 5th - what better way to spend a bank holiday weekend - 10 very muddle miles and 24 obstacles!
I have decided that whilst having some fun and getting extremely muddy I would like to endeavor to raise some money for a very worthy cause. I work for a charity called British Home, it is small charity located in Streatham who care for, support and rehabilitate adults who are living with severe and complex neurological disabilities; as a result of a progressive disorder or a trauma which has resulted in a brain injury.
A large part of our fundraising efforts for 2019 is to raise funds to enhance the quality of our rehabilitation program, primarily through acquiring additional specialised equipment. Rehabilitation is so vital for so many of the adults we care for, it allows people to gain back independence, strength and optimism. Rehabilitation can allow people to achieve what we would perceive as simple, but extremely meaningful tasks - to sit yourself up in the morning in bed, to turn the pages in your favorite book and to feed yourself.
British Home wants everybody with a neurological disability to continue living fulfilling and positive lives, rehabilitation can help us achieve this.
Any extra pennies you may have in your purse or wallet, that extra drink you didn't end up buying at the weekend (or Thursday if you are a fellow Londoner), or you want to put a few pounds towards a cause that will really help somebodies quality of life - please donate.
Thank you!
