Story
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page - this time I am climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care.
Update 14.01.11 - We survived our training weekend in the Peak District, despite almost getting blown off the hills several times!! Please see the picture (I'm next to the girl in the pink jacket) as evidence that I'm training hard!
Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa at 5,895 metres (19,341 feet) and a pretty challenging climb. A small team of adventurous (and slightly insane) employees from Thales UK have decided to take on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in support of Marie Curie Cancer Care. We will be trekking for a full six days along the Rongai route and camping at a number of points on the mountain. We have started training and fundraising in ernest and will set off in February.
MCCC has been caring for cancer patients and their families for over sixty years and I would really appreciate a donation to help us achieve our fundraising targets for such a worthy charity. Every £20 raised will cover the cost of one hour of nursing care for a cancer sufferrer.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. They’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you very much, we really appreciate your support!
