Story
I am raising money for Doncaster & Bassetlaw hospitals serenity appeal to improve their maternity bereavement services. Our little boy, Avery, was stillborn at Doncaster hospital last year so starting on his 1st birthday 31st of July, I will doing a 100km dog walk throughout August.
I know times are tough for everyone at minute but every donation no matter how little will make all the difference or even a share. It would be amazing if we could just make this time a little better for future families.
The big part of the serenity appeal is to build a separate suite off the central delivery suite which is sound proof where families can spend time and make memories with their sleeping babies. Currently families at Doncaster and surrounding areas have to give birth and make their memories on the central delivery suite which is so hard seeing all the excited pregnant women, the cries of newborns and families celebrating. This will in no way take away the pain and heartbreak but will make this time a little easier and a little gentler 🤍
“With much sadness, every year many families suffer the pain and trauma of losing a little one. Although we cannot change what has happened, we can make this experience that little bit easier for our families. As such, we need your help to make significant improvements to our maternity bereavement services so we can provide the gold standard of care that local people deserve. To make these improvements possible, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity need to raise £150,000 which will enable us to fund various improvements to our maternity bereavement services across Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Bassetlaw Hospital.” More information about this appeal can be found on their website.
