Story
Thank you for visiting my page.I’m supporting Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments. Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep our Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care. Thank you for your support.
I was diagnosed in late 2021 with epithelioid sarcoma, which is a soft tissue cancer. Since the diagnosis, the treatment and care that I have received has been outstanding and everyone treating me has been so kind.
Unfortunately, although my primary tumour was successfully removed, the cancer has spread to numerous places throughout my body and I have been given a terminal diagnosis. We’re continuing to raise money and awareness for Sarcoma UK and I have had some more radiotherapy recently.
I feel that I want and need to give something back to help others who may, in the future, be diagnosed with epithelioid sarcoma.
My fundraising target is £2000 because this is enough to fund a whole genome sequencing of one sample from a sarcoma tumour, helping to understand in greater detail why the cancer cells behave the way they do, and how they might target this with new treatments.
