Story
Chichester District Council have been working in partnership with Children on the Edge to organise the Chichester Half Marathon since 2012. This year Elaine and Matt from the Council and Sarah from Children on the Edge have been sweet talked, peer pressured, cajoled and somehow charmed into running it...
These beginners have all been training hard and enduring the blisters and sore muscles in exchange for some exhilarating moments and between them, they have already notched up some serious milage.
If you would like to show them some support and get them through the last few weeks of serious training, please donate as much or as little as you can. All money raised will go towards the word of Children on the Edge in Uganda...
Children on the Edge are working with children and families living in slum communities across Uganda who are living on the edges of their society, subject to abuse, forced into child labour and early marriage and stuck in cycles of poverty.
They work with a local organisation to provide early childhood education, a nutrition programme and support into primary schools for 140 children. This, alongside a Community Child Protection Committee, vocational training for young people, workshops for parents, carers and community members and the passion and dedication of local people will see the community become a safer place for children to live, where they will be free to play and enjoy their childhoods whilst looking towards a brighter future.
