Story

On 30 July 2014 I was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer. On that day I was introduced to my MacMillan Nurse Lisa who has been by my side ever since.

A few weeks later I underwent surgery to remove the tumour.

That bit now done, to ensure my recovery, on Tuesday 14 October, I startaed 18 weeks of chemotherapy.  As I'm sure you are aware, hair loss is one of the many side effects.

Throughout this most surreal roller coaster of appointments, pain, fear, laughter, tears, guilt, anger, hysterics, bad-taste-jokes, sleepless nights and denial, my MacMillan Nurse (we love Lisa) and the MacMillan counsellors (both emotional and practical) have been there and will continue to be there during my treatment and recovery.

In order to raise awareness of breast cancer and funds for MacMillan, I decided to take control and shave off my golden locks in stages over the days before my treatment started, and then commence with a "365 Day Different Daily Headgear" challenge and post the photographic evidence on Instagram and Facebook.

I am fairly certain there will be days when I can't be bothered to find something different to wear on my head, take a photo and post on social media, but I will promise to do so. If you are not onocial media, do check in here every now and then for photo updates

So, if you feel inclined, I along with MacMillan would be most grateful for any spare change you may be able to give.. Thank you x

Oh and please, please, please NOW GO CHECK YOUR BITS!!!!!
