Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last year, my Mom found out that she was carrying the BRCA 1
gene, meaning it was 85% more likely that she would develop Breast Cancer in her lifetime.

2 Weeks ago, my Mom went to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, where she was told that she had developed breast cancer and within the next month, she will be having a double mastectomy which will hopefully make it so she is Cancer free.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital have been amazing throughout this process, from the checks that my Mom had to have because of her increased risks to the many appointments that she is now having as a result of her diagnosis.

With one person every 10 minutes being diagnosed with cancer in the UK, it is important to fund front-line services to ensure that patients are getting the best possible treatment. Therefore, in order to help with this process, I will be travelling to the Penrhyn Quarry in Wales, to ride the fastest zip line in the world. Anyone who knows me will understand how much of a challenge this is, as someone who has hated roller coasters or anything even remotely similar for my entire life. However, even the smallest donation can make a difference to the level of medical care available and bring us one step closer to finding a cure for breast cancer.
