We develop advanced technologies to rid the world's oceans of plastic

Story

Over 150 million metric tons of plastic is estimated to be circulating in the world's oceans at this moment, killing 100 million marine animals every year. Unfortunately these numbers are only increasing. At our current trajectory, the mass of plastics in the ocean will outweigh fish by 2050.

I find that this is unacceptable. So for my CAS project, I wanted to take action by raising money for The Ocean Cleanup, and providing baked goods or food-related services to those who donate.

For each donation of £5 (or 50 HKD) and above, you can receive a baked good of your choice! (contact me on instagram @clean_up_the_ocean) or messenger if you would like to redeem this)

The ocean cleanup designs and develops ocean cleanup systems to take away the plastics that are currently polluting the ocean (and recycles these plastics into products), as well as other systems that intercept plastic on its way to the ocean (via rivers).

Thank you for supporting my cause!

About the charity

The Ocean Cleanup is a non-profit organization, developing advanced technologies to rid the world’s oceans of plastic. By utilizing the ocean currents to our advantage, our passive drifting systems are estimated to clean up half the Great Pacific Garbage Patch in 5 years’ time.
