Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.  

Almost everyone has been touched in some way by their ground-breaking work, like the first polio vaccines in the UK, ultrasound in pregnancy and the rubella vaccine.

As a mother I can relate to the both the anguish and jubilation of pregnancy. For me everything was ok and in part that is thanks to the work that AMR undertake - the ultrasounds scans were such a comfort as was knowing the importance of folic acid to prevent spina bifida. 

But not everyone is as lucky as me..... AMR's ground-breaking research helps find answers. Answers that can lead to vaccinations, treatments and cures. Answers that save lives.

I’ve been a runner of sorts for 5 years and have competed in races up to half marathon and in 2022 it’s my personal challenge to run a marathon (just one!) so I’m running the London marathon on 2^nd October and raising money at the same time.  So please, if you can give a little or a lot to help me reach my target of £2000! and continue this great funded research which currently includes....

and children, asthma, prematurity, epilepsy, meningitis, cerebral palsy, brain cancer and some rare and distressing conditions.

Their research focuses on child health including problems affecting pregnancy, childbirth, babies, children and young people.
