PetSavers was funded in 1974 by a group of vets who realised that there was a need for a charity which funded studies into the many unsolved medical and surgical problems of our pets.

PetSavers works hard to relieve the distress and pain caused by diseases in small animals for which we currently have no effective treatments.  Myself and the other nurses participating in this run are nursing these patients with these diseases every day and see how difficult it is for both pet and owner.  PetSavers' ultimate aim is to improve the health of the nation's pets. 

After completing the London BUPA 10k run back in 2008, I said to myself I would never run again... However, 4 years later I have clearly forgotten the pain I went through and signed up to this one with a great team of other Vet nurses at work.  We have all been very keen bringing our running gear with us to work (most days....) and training hard after an equally hard day of nursing!
