Story
My walk will start on 23 January and finish on the 1 May 2016, just prior to my GCSE's. Two miles a day doesn't sound much but my illness has caused me to become quite unfit so at the moment this is quite a challenge for me. My goal is to raise £200 or more, that's just £1 a mile, with your help I'm sure this can be done.
I was diagnosed with a brain tumour in July 2015 and needed treatment that was only available to me in America. Richard's Wish gave me a special gift and that was an iPad, so I could keep in touch with my friends and family on Skype whilst away.
Also by using this iPad I was able to set up a social page - Charlotte's Dreams - Sidmouth Girl - on Facebook. This allowed me to receive so much support, raise awareness and comfort/reassure others who are going through similar experiences.
In December I was invited, by Richard's Wish, to the most amazing Christmas party for children undergoing treatment for cancer. Our families were invited and we all had a lovely carvery and a fabulous present from Father Christmas, it was a very special day.
Since then I had to be admitted into Bramble Ward at the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital. I was there for eleven days and was put into a room that Richard's Wish had revamped. This meant my stay was as comfortable as possible.
It is now time for me to say a huge thank you and give something back. Doing this walk for Richard's Wish will inspire me to keep going.
