Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
So for some strange reason an idea popped into my head a few weeks ago to shave my head...this is what lockdown has done to me! lol Inspired by the brave the shave event by Macmillan (which my uber cool niece Tilly took part in a few years ago), I decided it would be great if I could raise money for a charity close to my heart in the process :-)
At the Blue Cross, pets are at the heart of everything they do. Each year thousands of cats, dogs, small pets and horses turn to the Blue Cross animal hospitals, clinics and rehoming services for treatment and to find them the happy homes they deserve. Meanwhile, their education and behaviour teams prepare future pet owners to take responsibility and look after their pets for life.
You will no doubt know my beloved dog Charlie passed away earlier this year. You may not know the Blue Cross also has a pet bereavement support service. Staffed by what I can only describe as wonderfully caring volunteers, the helpline was a key factor in helping me come to terms with my grief, and I will be forever grateful for the kind words said to me.
In addition to shaving my head, I also plan to donate my hair to a charity such as the Little Princess Trust. The reason I'm going for the shave rather than a short hair style is so it'll be long enough to donate :-)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
