Oliver’s Story
In August 2010 Oliver was 6 years old when he was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumour and immediately underwent major surgery to remove the tumour. The operation was successful, and he received a further 6 weeks of radiotherapy followed by a further 8 months of chemotherapy. In April 2011 Oliver was given the all clear and went on and had an amazing 7 years, within this time he has been on some great holidays including Italy, France and Australia and one of the best times of his life was when he went to watch Manchester United play at Old Trafford.
In Year 10 at the Warriner, just about to start his GCSE’s, Oliver began to get back ache, nothing major just a niggle which got progressively worse over a few weeks and in June 2018 and was yet again diagnosed with Cancer. Unfortunately, at the moment there is no cure for this type of cancer, so Oliver is trying to take each day as it comes and enjoy life to the max. Oliver has taken up photography and enjoy taking photos of nature and the countryside, he also likes poetry and writing poems about food. Oliver has a very supportive family and some great friends, and they are helping him get through this journey.
