Hi all,

As some of you may know, I have somehow agreed to take part in this year's London Marathon.  Whether this is a wise decision or not will be apparent on the day itself, but the one thing keeping me going and making sure that the incessant training in the rain, wind and snow is more than worthwhile, is the fact that I am running for a fantastic charity called Alone in London.

Alone in is a youth homelessness organisation that has been in existence for over 37 years. There are two strands to its work. It provides emotional and practical support to young people who have run away from home. It also works in schools, talking to the pupils about the dangers of running away and making them aware of the fact that there are people out there who will listen and can help resolve their problems.

All sponsorship will be greatly appreciated by Alone in and the young people benefiting from the advice and support they will receive.
