Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I wanted to run The South Downs Marathon on June 9th in order to celebrate my 50th birthday and also to raise as much money as possible for the excellent charity PetSavers.
I started training on 12th Feb this year and have so far run 300 miles in training, usually with my Border Collie Ted several steps ahead . As one passer- by commented , 'He's winning!'
Sadly not all the patients I see, in my work as a vet, can be as active as Ted , whether through accident or disease. PetSavers does great work in providing funds for original research into common problems that affect our pets every day.
I am delighted to be able to help raise funds for PetSavers, whether it be £50 or £500 to support their valuable work . All your support will help encourage me to run all 26.2 miles on June 9th which will be a great way to celebrate 50 years.
PetSavers is dedicated to improving the health of pets, providing vets with a better understanding of the illnesses that affect animals.
Petsavers has already had success in gaining a better understanding of many common diseases such as diabetes, kidney failure, cancer, heart disease, arthritis and skin complaints. An investigation funded by PetSavers into a pet disease is undertaken to the highest ethical, scientific and veterinary standards and none of the work involves any form of animal experimentation.
The ultimate aim of PetSavers is to improve the health of the nation’s pets by relieving the distress and pain caused by diseases for which we currently have no effective treatments.
