Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On behalf of her family and friends and her lifelong partner Gerald Kerr, this page has been set up in memory of Julia Burton, much loved partner of Gerald, sister of John Hunt, mother of three, her surviving children Sean and Sharon (her late son Tim) and her five grandchildren; Adam, Sam, Luke, Harley and Lily and her great grandchildren Kayla, Lyrica, Frankie and Freya. Also her step daughters Alison, Julie and Karen, and step grandsons Bailey and Kieran.
Julia was born 12th December 1938 and passed away peacefully on Sunday 22 August 2021 in the early morning after a long battle with Alzheimer's. Gerald is arranging a simple cremation for Julia and instead of flowers he and the family would be grateful for donations to the Alzheimer's Society as a fitting way for anyone who wishes to show their respects.
Julia was a remarkable woman who will be much missed. In her youth she made some remarkable acheivements, including flying Tiger Moth planes and breaking the speed record for London to Edinburgh in her C Type Jaguar in 1965. She maintained that she probably still holds this official record as the day after her attempt speed limits were introduced on British roads! Julia delighted in her garden which she kept beautifully until she became too ill to maintain it. She found happiness later in life and she and Gerald were devoted to each other.
