Singing for Saint Francis in memory of Martyn Edward Bowden

Charlotte Bowden is raising money for Saint Francis Hospice
In memory of Martyn Bowden
Saint Francis Hospice is a leading provider of palliative care for people living in Havering, Brentwood, Redbridge, Barking & Dagenham. We care for people from 18 years of age, of any race or religion, who have a life limiting illness due to cancer, heart disease, motor neurone disease or respiratory disease and we provide physical, spiritual and emotional care and support to patients and their families.

Story

As some of you may know, we lost my Dad in November 2019. He was a wonderful trombonist and loved music. He spent a lot of his time playing for classical orchestras, brass bands, big bands...pretty much anyone who needed a trombonist, he was there!

After he passed we hoped to put on a memorial concert celebrating his life and fundraising for the wonderful St Francis Hospice where he spent his last week... but Covid is a big old party pooper and so we haven’t yet been able to.

I haven’t shared anything on social media since his passing but, as today is his (and my grandmother’s) day of remembrance, I wanted to do something to mark it.

I am going to share a series of videos once a day for the next week or so from a recording session the lovely Ella O’Neill and I had last week in lieu of holding a concert. Hopefully it won't be too long before we can have the real thing!

Saint Francis Hospice has to raise £7.8Million this year to cover the costs of everything they do and Covid has had a huge impact on their funds. Any and all donations will be very gratefully received and will go towards helping other terminally ill individuals and their families in need of medical care and support.

Thank you!
