Thanks for visiting our page.
I know 5k doesn't seem like much, but it will be quite a challenge for me. As many of you know, in September 2016, I had a sporting accident which caused concussion and unfortunately was also later diagnosed as having sustained a TBI - a traumatic brain injury. My brain struggles to process eye movements and consequently I often have headaches, nausea and fatigue.
I've been making a slow but steady recovery but these (any many other) symptoms are not uncommon for brain injury sufferers. These can be caused by trauma, strokes or other brain conditions. All too often, such injuries are life changing.
Headway West London are a fantastic local branch of a charity who provide invaluable practical assistance and emotional support to brain injury sufferers and their carers. I have been attending sessions with them for the last year and have benefitted enormously from the advice, support and community they provide.
My husband, Nick, who has been my rock of support will also be donning his superhero outfit this Sunday. This Superhero run (www.londonsuperherorun.co.uk) in Regent's Park will help to raise money for a charity that has been invaluable to us...and also we should get some comedy pics of us in fancy dress! Please give generously!
Thank you for all your support.
Love Charlotte and Nick
