Story
I’m excited to be taking on the London Marathon on 21 April 2024 to raise funds for Child Bereavement UK - a charity which offers support to children, young people and families when a child grieves or when a child dies.
Child Bereavement UK– which specialises in supporting children and young people up to the age of 25 – is a charity very close to my heart.
In recent years, some of my friends and family members have suffered grief and pain from bereavement, and I am proud to support a charity which makes sure that those facing these challenges need not do so alone.
My incredible Dad also recently enrolled as a volunteer for the charity, having already spent several years working as a child bereavement counsellor, and my mum also engages in grief related voluntary work. Through their experiences, I have seen the positive impact that counselling, care and guidance can have on unimaginable loss, and how vital it is that these services can continue.
All the money I raise will go directly to Child Bereavement UK, to help fund support, guidance and other services for grieving children and families. Against a backdrop of reduced support of public services, fundraising has become an ever more vital source of income.
To feel that I have truly earnt your support, I am setting myself the personal challenge to come in at under 3 hours 30 minutes, significantly faster than my last marathon attempt (3 hours, 48 minutes).
To keep myself accountable to this target, I will be updating this page with training progress.
Thank you so much for any donations you are able to give.
