Story
I am honored to be one of this year's Stars who is dancing and fundraising to support the mission of Carolina Breast Friends!
I wanted to take a minute and tell a story about one of the amazing women I will be dancing in honor of - Linda Burnett. Please take a minute to consider donating in honor of this amazing woman.
For 57 years, Linda graced everyone she met with her beauty and spirit. The last 20 of those years, she tirelessly battled metastatic breast cancer like a fierce warrior. If you were not privy to this battle, you would have only seen a lady who immediately made you feel like a friend. Linda had a beautiful smile and bright eyes that radiated joy, and there was so much joyfulness in her life. She fiercely loved her husband and two children and was tickled to be a grandmother. For those of us lucky enough to call her a friend, we loved her just as fiercely right back. You did not leave an encounter with Linda without receiving a kiss on the cheek and a big hug. It did not matter if you had just seen her two days prior, if she knew you were coming to visit, you were certain to get a text about how excited she was to see you.
Linda had curly fiery red hair that she spent a life time trying to perfect and tame. She had a curious and inquisitive nature and was a voracious reader. Linda was always up for a movie, especially if it was British. Her love of coffee knew no bounds and she was the Queen of Scrabble.
I was able to tell Linda that I would be honoring her on the stage this year a few short weeks before she left us. Everyone close to her knows she would be so proud of every donation given in support of assisting the amazing women battling this cruel disease.
