Story
Hi,
Our band of merry men are taking on the gruelling '3 Peaks Challenge 'Charity event now amended to the weekend of 22 - 23 June 13 hoping to complete it within 24 hours. This has had to be moved due to adverse weather conditions on the Peaks due to all the snow etc. The 4 lads doing it (either Ex or serving Army lads) will be Nigel Hinton, Pete Gott, Brian Hughes and I backed up by our support team of Pete Hatton MBE and Noa Lash Larua. We will be doing this for Macmillan Cancer Support on behalf of Steve Owen who is terminally ill with a brain tumor, and this is his chosen charity. This is also being done on behalf of other people who are also suffering with the disease as well.
This page is dedicated to my old Army Troop Staff Sergeant and friend Steve Owen who I served under in Bosnia and then when I was with 2 Signal Regiment, York 1997 - 98. He was a very fit man and always gave me sound advice and went on to serve 23 years in The Army. He has been diagnosed with grade 4 gio labastoma multi form which is a form of brain tumor and he is dying.
When I heard about his plight I thought it only right with his blessing that we raise awareness and money for this worthwhile charity to help people who are suffering with this illness. All of the proceeds are going to Macmillan Cancer Support of which he has raised over 8K with his sponsored Shark Dive in Oct last year.
Your generous donations would be greatly appreciated in helping our charity to continue its good work and support against this illness.
Kind Regards,
Charlie Kama
