Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
St Abbs Lifeboat first put to sea in 1911 and for the last 106 years they have
supported and crewed the lifeboat, saving 230 lives. Sadly this long tradition
of saving lives at sea looked like it was going to come to an end when the RNLI announced that they would be closing the lifeboat station. With St Abbs being a huge draw to divers, walkers, anglers and other coastal users, the community were unhappy with the decision, and decided to start fundraising to put their own independent lifeboat in St Abbs. This eventually happened in 2016 with a huge donation from Boyd Tunnock of Tunnocks Biscuits, however the ongoing running costs are huge and through my trip to Everest I hope in some small way to help them cover some of these on going costs.
