Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Earlier this year my grandmother passed away after suffering for a number of years with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. It was very important to Nanny that she remained at home throughout her illness being cared by her family, which required 24/7 care. Marie Curie Care also assisted with the nursing care which helped us fulfil her wish of dying at home. This is why I will run the Belfast half marathon in Nanny's memory raising money for a well deserved Charity - Marie Curie Care.
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides high quality nursing, totally free, to give people with terminal cancer and other illnesses the choice of dying at home, supported by their families.
£20 could pay for Marie Curie to nurse someone with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home for one hour, giving them the hands-on care they so desperately need.
£80 could pay for a Marie Curie nurse to spend the evening caring for a patient at home. This would allow them to make the most of the precious time they have left with the nearest and dearest.
£160 could pay for one of the Marie Curie nurses to look after someone right through the night. This would give them and their family peace of mind and all the reassurance they need at such a difficult time.
Thank you
