Story
The Montreal Campus strongly believes that the creation of meaningful positive impact games depends on a larger participation of different types of creatives within the industry.
Therefore, on this Giving Day, we are aiming to raise $5,000 to help create scholarship funds to further encourage equal representation in our Montreal programs:
- For BIPOC creative students,
- For different genders in games,
- And for non-gamers wishing to integrate the use of gaming tools to their skills.
Champlain College's Montreal Campus was founded in 2007, and is situated in one of the most advanced techno-creative cities.
That the Montreal Campus welcomes students wishing to take advantage of these opportunities through our professional adjuncts, participation in events, company visits, personal contact development, portfolio reviews and other mentorship/coaching opportunities.
In addition, we in Montreal, are also constantly providing feedback and working with the main Campus so as to ensure that our students are ready for future challenges such as:
- The evolution of the gaming industry (mixed reality, avatars …),
- The cross-over of different creative industries (game with film and audio for example which are new Champlain programs),
- The gamification of non-gaming fields (such as communication, education, business, analytics, medicine, training …),
- Last but not least … the development of careers in virtual spaces.
These are exciting fields and we are lucky to combine the Montreal exposure and expertise, with the agility and student commitment of our College.
