Working as a physiotherapist on the neonatal unit I am passionate about optimising the development of the babies on there. The power of touch for an infant is huge and helps to settle them including their heart rate and oxygen levels, which in turns helps to promote optimal brain growth through the reduction of stress hormones.

Parents aren't always able to stay with their babies on the unit and, although nothing replaces a parents touch for the baby, Zaky hands help to replicate a supporting hand for the baby helping to settle, calm and stabilise them.
