To all my generous supporters - heartfelt thanks!!
We did it! It was a 100% pass-rate for nearly 150 Grade One-a-thon candidates on Sunday..... a fantastic result! I achieved a merit on my sax with 127 marks.... three squeaks short of a distinction, but a good show none the less.
I think however I can claim a distinction in fund-raising. By mid-January I had already exceeded my original target of £500 and increased it to £1,000.... as you can see I have now exceeded that target.
The total sum raised from the event so far is around £50,000 and rising as the money is collected in from offline sponsors.... another fantastic result.
The concert on Sunday evening 27th February was huge fun - you can check the event web-page http://www.spinal.co.uk/page/GOAT for pictures and clips. I think I can safely say that some extraordinary music was heard - as well as some top-class music from Prime Brass, Guy Llewellyn performing from his wheelchair. Your contribution has helped raise funds so that SIA can help those suffering severe spinal injury to return to normal life.... Guy is proof that it is really possible.
Thank you so much for your support!
Celia
