Down to the Wood

My husband of 41 years died in November 2022 following a diagnosis in July of Oesophageal cancer Stage 4, which came as a complete shock to us both. When your Oncologist tells you to set your affairs in order, you have to listen! It was very difficult to tell all our family and friends of his diagnosis. It was also very difficult to watch Andy's rapid decline from a big strong man to a shadow of his former self.
We were so thankful when the Prospect angels came to help us with Andy's daily care and especially for those lovely ladies who came to stay with him during some nights so that I could actually try to sleep.
I feel very strongly that I must do all I can to raise as much money as I can, so that other families who find themselves in a similar position can benefit from their unstinting care. I cannot run marathons, or jump from aeroplanes or wing walk, so I have chosen to get a haircut - a drastic haircut - I am going to 'Brave the Shave' - as Andy would have said "right down to the wood!"
I have chosen the date of 1st April this year in the hope that we will have a warm spring so my newly bald head will not get cold!
Please donate as much as you can afford in these difficult times for this very worthwhile cause.
Thank you.
Celia
