This page is set up in memory of our lovely Caz, who sadly passed away peacefully in the Hospice of the Good Shepherd on Friday 5th June 2020.
Caz was diagnosed with bowel cancer in October 2018. She accepted her diagnosis and treatment with amazing bravery and her own unique sense of humour, which made it very easy to be around her.
Caz had many interests, including her crafts and her love of running.
She was a member of the Ellesmere Port Running Club. It was running
she wanted to get back to every time she recovered from treatment and when she couldn’t run any more, she cycled – still part of the group.
Caz was a great example of EPRC and what it means to so many
of its members. She covered the whole range of duties – she helped out at the beginner’s nights, served on the committee, ran the Borders, marathons and ultras.
But she never took running too seriously – she just “rocked up and ran”. As Caz would say, "our club is definitely not all about the running!”
Caz touched so many people's lives in many ways and left us all with lovely memories.
She will leave a huge void and it would surprise her to know that she was loved by so many people.
Caz spent her last weeks in the Hospice of the Good Shepherd, where she was looked after so well and felt at peace and fully supported by the staff, who anticipated her every need.
Any donations will help to continue to care and support other families.
Run free and never get weary, Caz. We will miss you so much.
