Story
Thank you for taking the time out of your day to visit my JustGiving page. During this terrible pandemic, we are all struggling to come to terms with our new reality - some are struggling more than others to make a living and some aren’t even given the opportunity to say goodbye to their loved ones. St Kentigern’s Hospice has come up with a lockdown challenge to raise funds. As do many charities, food banks, and organizations right now they rely on voluntary funds to stay afloat. Your challenge can be anything from walking, running, to completing those jobs you’ve been putting off for a while to arts and crafts.
My challenge has been to clear out the whole house (with the attic as an exception at the moment!) I have managed to do just that. However, I now have a very tall Mount Everest of clothes, games, crockery and much more stuff I will never use again sitting in our house. I intended to donate these items once the charity shops reopened, however, I thought if I could make a difference right now, then why not? Perhaps half of these charity shops will not even be able re-open once we’ve passed this hurdle and heartbreakingly it will be the case for many small and perhaps a few large businesses in time to come.
Each item is £1 each and each £1 will be donated towards St Kentigern’s Hospice. I intend to start with clothes - Clothes vary in sizes; they are all women’s clothing - sizes go from 6 to 16.
You can donate here on my Just Giving page.
If anyone would like to join in, I’d love to add more people to my team so feel free and give me a message or whether you’d like to participate yourself, email w.clark@stkentigernhospice.org.uk - each person who participates with the challenge gets a certificate and medal from St Kentigern’s.
I look forward to completing this challenge.
