Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Having seen a number of family and friends fall victim to Cancer, I have made the decision to run my first marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK. My lovely auntie lost her battle with Cancer in 2008. Throughout her suffering, she never complained and continued to smile through to the end. She will always be remembered. Its my turn to give something back in her memory. I also have friends who are currently suffering cancer and others who have conquered it! My deciding to fundraise via justgiving for Cancer Research is for all those I know, have known and do not know who are suffering, or have suffered, a form of Cancer.
Since starting training for the Brighton Marathon I have lost a good friend to liver and bowel cancer. Infact she passed away yesterday so I shall also be running in her memory. R.I.P. Sandy. Always remembered and will be missed greatly. God bless. x
A year ago I was 3 stones heavier, totally unfit and couldn't even walk up the stairs without getting breathless. I wallowed in self pity, clothes wouldn't fit and I was tired and listless! My problems were minimilist compared to those suffering with terminal illnesses. Eventually I decided that it was I who had to do something to change and made the best decision of my life - to start running, lose weight and get fit! But most of all, to do something for a cause I feel strongly about and give something back in the hope of help for others. I decided to run a marathon. I will be running my first ever race in April 2014 in Brighton and I shall be training all through the winter months for this day of endurance. Its all worth it though for this amazing charity.
