Story
My sister & I were lucky enough to have a mother who was inspiring, adventurous and one of the most fun people to spend time with. Sadly we lost her to Motor Neurone Disease in 2003, and since then I've tried very hard to live up to her example and family motto, "Live to Live".
In April I will be spending four days in Arizona, as I take part in a great event called the Copperstate 1000. It's a vintage car rally, limited to only 75 cars, and I was lucky enough to be selected as a participant. Four days, driving 250 miles a day & hopefully following the map clearly enough to end up where we're supposed to be each evening.
The event is certainly one those "bucket list" experiences for me, but its also a chance to do something that I know Hazel would have loved, and probably nominated herself as co-driver for, should she still be here.
Consequently, I thought it fitting to use it as an opportunity to raise money and awareness for Motor Neurone Disease, or ALS as it's known in America. There is no cure, and there are no words to really describe to you the devastation it causes to both the sufferer and their family or friends. Please take the time to look at the photo album, as it will introduce you to the cast involved in this event - Hazel (our mother), The Egg (my automotive partner in miles), Harry Clarke (my cousin and valient co-driver/navigator) and me!
I will be updating my blog and hopefully posting photos & video clips throughout the event, so please feel free to check out the links for more information:

If you can spare even the price for a cup of coffee, you'll help me to make a difference. My event is already paid for, so every penny we raise goes directly to the charity and helps to support the incredible work that Motor Neurone Disease Association does every day.
Thanks for visiting,
Catherine
